Skylanders Swap Force Logo For The Boys

Tweet My boys absolutely love Skylanders and I think we have pretty much every character there is. First, there was the launch of Skylanders, where the figures come to life on screen (pure marketing genius!). Then last year they introduced Giants, which of course we had to stock up on for holiday gifts. Well, now there is more big news! CEO, Eric Hirshberg, officially revealed details for the next big thing in the toys to life kids gaming category with the announcement of Skylanders SWAP Force. At NASDAQ, Eric showed a sneak peek of SWAP Force gameplay and unveiled the brand new, groundbreaking “swappable” characters to a roar of excitement. CEO of Toys ‘r’ Us, Jerry Storch, joined Eric on stage and had his own [...]

Because The Word “Underwear” Is Funny

February 8, 2013
underwear For The Boys

Tweet If I say to my boys, “Go put some underwear on,” they’ll break out into non-stop giggles. “Haha she said underwear,” they will say as they go running for their bedrooms. Seriously, try saying that word to your kids and see if they can answer you with a straight face. My boys love using underwear as a hat, part of their costume and even as a weapon (watch out!). I think Dav Pilkey was on to something when he started the series, Captain Underpants. I recently introduced these books to my almost 7-year-old and he is absolutely loving them! A few months ago, he hated anything that had to do with reading. Now, I can’t get him to put books down! He really enjoyed [...]

He’s Just A Little Boy

May 1, 2012
Baseball sign Motherhood & Marriage

Tweet Yesterday I came across this sign on Facebook {source unknown}: Now that I’m a parent, I see things differently. I remember being the child on the ball field, hearing parents from the sidelines screaming at their child for missing a ball. It’s very intimidating. My parents were always supportive and cheered me on. It didn’t matter if I missed the ball or struck out, I always knew they were still proud of me. I vowed to be like that for my two boys. Last year I wrote a post about giving my son a voice and how we let him make his own decision even at a young age. This year he told me he wanted to play t-ball and he is really loving [...]

Blood, Mud and Grass Stains – Resolve It!

April 16, 2012
laundry Products & Giveaways

Tweet If you have boys or a husband, you probably have experienced all of the below at one point or another. Blood Stains – someone always falls and skins a knee or two. Mud Stains – if the boys see mud outside you can guarantee they will jump in it. Usually me screaming, “Stay out of the mud!” never works and only makes them want to do it more. Grass Stains – Forget about putting a new pair of pants on them. Sooner or later, they’ll decide it’s fun to slide or tackle each other in the grass. I probably do about 5 – 7 loads of laundry a week, seriously. My husband works outside most of the time, so I am constantly washing his [...]

Tomorrow Is Another Day

December 7, 2011
face Home & Family

Tweet   I gripped the steering wheel tighter as my heart began to thump in my chest. I kept my eyes on the road and every few seconds would do a quick look in my rear view mirror. My little boy was sitting all the way in the back. His arm was resting on the arm rest and his chin laid in the palm of his hand. He looked up at me and gave me a sweet smile. My heart started beating faster. In a few minutes, his sweet smile will change. I knew this wasn’t going to be easy, but I have to do this for me. I made a right into the parking lot and I heard a little voice say, “Where are [...]
