grill it recipes Food & Entertaining

Tweet My husband and I love cooking on the grill and we do it all year round. Literally if it’s raining (or snowing), my husband will prop open his huge umbrella and find some way to attach it so he’s covered. I’m always trying to come up with new recipes for us to test out because honestly I’m tired of the standard dogs and burgers. I’m a total sucker for cooking magazines and I can’t help myself from throwing one in my cart every time I’m at the store. Every week I go through my magazines and check out Pinterest to find a few new recipes to try. A few weeks ago I polled my Facebook community and asked them if they would be interested [...]

Epic Movie Premiere: My Family Walked the “Green” Carpet #EpicTheMovie

May 24, 2013
EPIC Home & Family

Tweet Disclosure: My trip expenses were covered for this event, however I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own. Yes, it wasn’t technically the red carpet. It was more like green plush grass but when you see the movie Epic you’ll realize why they went with more of a natural looking scenery as opposed to the traditional red carpet. I was excited because not only was this my first big premiere to attend, but I was able to bring along my family. For me this is what it’s all about. Yes, it’s great to attend events, but when I get the chance to have my family join me it makes the experience that much better. Before the premiereWe arrived Friday night [...]

Tweet Disclosure: I received $100 from Merck Consumer Care, and any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience. This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Merck Consumer Care. If you read my blog, you know that it’s really important to me to keep my family active. Just yesterday, I talked about creating a family to-go kit to help you prepare for unexpected adventures. Now that the school year is coming to an end, I’m already thinking about ways to keep my boys busy. I work from home, so it’s important to be organized and have activities planned for them to prevent us from going stir crazy! Plus, I want to make a ton of memories with my boys this summer. They are [...]

activity to go kit Home & Family

Tweet Disclosure: I am the Trend Trio Family Expert for P&G. All of my thoughts and opinions are based on my own personal experience. Read Life Without Pink’s full disclosure here.   I’m a big believer in getting my kids outside every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s been raining (hey, getting wet never hurt anyone before) and there are a lot of benefits: Physical activity – get the kids burning some energy Spending time as a family – away from technology Educational experience – talk about the things around you Here’s the thing…it’s important to be prepared for anything. After a day of running errands, my kids are usually super cranky. So, how do I turn cranky kids into happy kids? By making a [...]

catching fire Home & Family

Tweet I’m so excited for the next installment of the Hunger Games. I read the series over a year ago and I couldn’t put them down. I thought Jennifer Lawrence was brilliant in the first movie and I’m looking forward to the next one, Catching Fire, hitting theaters on November 22, 2013! The below movie poster showcases heroic Katniss and a tagline pulled straight from the incredible words of Suzanne Collins – The sun persists on rising, so I make myself stand.   Take a look at the official Catching Fire trailer below (it looks SO good!): Here’s a quick look at the red carpet arrival and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Cannes Party at Baoli Beach sponsored by COVERGIRL.    Synopsis: The Hunger Games: [...]

From the Kitchen to the Laundry Room with Maytag #MaytagURIt

May 17, 2013
may is maytag month Home & Family

Tweet Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own. About two months ago, my husband and I bought a brand new Maytag oven and dishwasher to match our stainless steel refrigerator. We opted for a double oven for a few reasons: I have a huge cabinet that holds all of my pots and pans, so I didn’t need the bottom drawer. I do a lot of entertaining, so it’s great that I can cook two different dishes at the same time on different temperatures. Since my microwave is still sitting in a box in the garage (um going on 3 years now), it makes warming up dinner for my husband quick and easy. The top oven only takes a few [...]

I’m back to tell you all about our recent trip to Lancaster, PA. Even though we only stayed one night, we made so many fun memories and really crammed a lot into two days. We stayed at Bird-In-Hand Family Inn and it was great.  The property was nice, there’s a ton of things to do on site, and it’s in a great location. The Amish Village Our first stop was The Amish Village. To kick off the day we enjoyed a nice lunch in their picnic area and had some time to chat with the other bloggers [...]
