Our Halloween Costumes for 2014 #chasingtreats2014

September 30, 2014
Family Costume Ideas Products & Gear

Tweet Fall is my favorite time of the year. The crisp air, beautiful colored leaves, pumpkin spice coffee, festivals, boots and sweaters, carving pumpkins….I could go on and on! Not to mention, Halloween is a big deal around our house. Not only is it an excuse to dress up but my younger son’s birthday is a few days after Halloween so every year we usually have a Halloween inspired party for him. That’s why I’m thrilled to partner with Chasing Fireflies for the second year to help us choose our costumes. My kids loved studying the Chasing Fireflies Wishcraft catalog and they circled all of their favorite choices. It took a good week before we all decided on which ones we wanted to go with. […]

Playskool Heroes Transformers Rescue Bots Optimus Primal Figure #Hasbro

September 25, 2014
FC37B24D50569047F5EF87F455367623 Boys

Tweet Disclosure: Hasbro sent my boys this product for review. As always, all opinions are my own. Read Life Without Pink’s full disclosure here. My boys love transformers, however when they were little they had a hard time transforming them. My husband or I would have to do it and then five minutes later they’d ask us to transform them back. Not to mention, some of them are super hard to do…..sometimes it would take me a few tries to get it right so I can understand how young children can get frustrated easily. That’s why the Playskool Heroes Transformers Rescue Bots are perfect for little hands. My almost 6 year-old loves these still because he can do them all by himself with one swift move. […]

25 Questions to Ask Your Child After School

September 24, 2014
25 Questions To Ask Your Child After School Boys

Tweet “How was your day?” “Good.” “What did you do?” “I don’t remember.” Does this sounds familiar? When my boys walk in from school, I’m eager to know how their day was. What did they do? What did they learn? But most of the time when I ask them they give me one word answers. I realized my questions were too vague and not “interesting” enough to get them talking. After attending their back-to-school night, we were handed a piece of paper with questions to ask our kids to learn more about their day and to get a conversation started. And they work! The key is to not sound too eager (I know it’s hard to do). I’ll let my boys come in, put their […]

Worldwide Day of Play: Join the #SavePlay Movement

September 19, 2014
Join The SavePlay Movement Home & Family

Tweet Guest post by Greg Harrison, creative director, Playworld Systems This Saturday (Sept. 20) marks Nickelodeon’s 11th annual Worldwide Day of Play (WWDOP). The day is scheduled in hopes that children will turn off their computers, tablets and TVs and head outside and play. Since the Worldwide Day of Play’s inception, all Nickelodeon-owned channels go completely dark for three hours, as do their respective websites to reinforce the message of “get up, get out and go play.” This day is so needed. Did you know that according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, kids spend an average of seven hours a day with media?  At Playworld Systems, a US-based playground equipment manufacturer, we advocate for unstructured outdoor free play all year long. We applaud Nickelodeon’s […]
