November 7, 2014
Thanksgiving Crafts To Teach Kids About Gratitude Create & Learn

Tweet Right after Halloween it seems like BOOM it’s all about Christmas. But we forget about Thanksgiving. I don’t do a ton of decorating for this holiday but I enjoy doing crafts with my kids this time of the year. I really enjoy ones that teach my boys about gratitude. Our favorite craft is the gratitude garland. I think it’s important to give thanks for our family, friends, and all of our blessings throughout the year and this is a fun way to get the whole family involved. This week, I’ve rounded up a few of my other favorite gratitude craft ideas for the kids. They can also be used as decorations around the house or a nice centerpiece for Thanksgiving dinner. 1. Gratitude Garland […]

Easy Meal: Pasta with Spinach and Johnsonville Sausage

November 4, 2014
Pasta and Sausage and Spinach Food & Parties

Tweet Most week days are pretty crazy. Kids are home by 3:30pm then it’s a race to get everything done. Snack, homework, dinner, and off to that evening’s activities by 6pm. I find when I’m prepared with dinner, the end of the day goes so much smoother. I try to come up with easy meals I can start right before the kids get home and finish up while they are doing their homework. I made a pasta with spinach and sausage recipe the other night and it was a big hit. For this recipe, I normally cook the ground sausage earlier in the day and then throw it back in the skillet to warm up. After my kids get home and are settled, I’ll start […]

Tweet Are your kids making their Christmas lists already? My boys sure are. They love when holiday magazines get delivered to the house full of the hottest new toys for the season. They grab their pens and circle away! One item that’s on their list is the Skylanders Trap Team that just launched in October. My boys are still big fans of Skylanders. I remember when the original series came out and we went searching from store to store trying to get our hands on the Skylanders figures. The Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack sells for $74.96. Starter Pack includes: 1-Video Game, 1-Traptanium Portal, 2-Skylanders Figures, 2-Traps, 1-Character Collector Poster, 2-Sticker Sheets with Secret Codes and 2-Trading Cards. What I love most about this latest […]

Friday Fresh Picks: 6 Winter Jackets for Boys

October 31, 2014
Winter Jackets for Boys Products & Gear

Tweet Today when I stepped outside to take the boys to the bus stop,  I saw frost on the ground. This means one thing….the winter months are almost upon us. Every year I usually wait until the last minute to buy my boys outwear gear; jackets, hats, gloves, snow pants, and boots. I wanted to get a head start so I started searching for good winter jackets for my boys. I don’t mind spending a bit more since I can get double the use (it gets passed down to my younger son) and sometimes triple use when my cousin’s son can use the gear and clothes from my boys. There are a few things I look for when picking out a winter jacket for my […]

Reminder: Get Your Breast Cancer Screening

October 28, 2014
3D Mammography SJRA Life

Tweet October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so please remind your love ones that regular screenings can save lives by catching cancer early. Here’s a very scary statistic: Have you or someone close to you been diagnosed with breast cancer? I have a few friends and family members that have gone through this and it really puts everything in prospective. It’s super scary and a few of my friends have been detected early, which literally was the #1 reason they beat cancer. How about monthly breast exams? I’m going to be honest and tell you that I don’t. I know it’s something that I need to get into the routine of doing. I’m getting close to the age where I’ll need a mammogram and just […]
