Meet this week’s boy mom, Gena! She’s a mom of four (yes four!) girls and one adorable boy.
Describe your son.
Energetic, loving, flirty, funny, outgoing, and adventurous.
How do you stay calm when surrounded by ALL that energy?
I breathe and remember to laugh.
How do you instill gentlemanly behavior, actions, thoughts?
He has 4 older sisters so I try to show him how to treat his sisters. He also looks up to my boyfriend and sees how he treats me.
What do you like to do with your son?
I like to watch him play games and wrestle around. He also loves to read.
Where is your favorite place to shop for him?
I get a lot of hand me downs which is perfect because I hate shopping for boys! Ha!
How do you maintain close relationships with your son as he ages?
He is such a mamas boy that it is not hard. We cuddle a lot.
What type of sports or activities does he participate in?
He doesn’t yet but we want to let him try everything once.
What are some books/series your son likes to read?
He loves animal books.
I love being a boy mom because ______
It has taught me patience and to laugh more.
Give us your BEST tip for other moms of boys:
I have many special memories about learning what to do with a boy. I was living a life without blue with four girls. From the first ultrasound, I knew my life was going to never be the same with this little boy. Barbies and babies were now hanging out with cool trucks and Spiderman.
This boy has created so many fun memories everyday. From “twerking” in a store to singing Barbie Girl to his love for video games to pretending to be Spiderman. Our favorite thing to do when it’s just the two of us and cold outside is to play video games together.
Actually, he insists that mama plays with him. If I go in the other room, he switches controllers on me and giggles his mischievous laugh because he pulled a joke on me. He also loves to bust out the Just Dance games with his sisters as he tries to out dance them. Seeing his different expressions is a sure fire way to keep the girls in his home laughing all day.
