Behind the Scenes at The Dawn Show + Lots of Holiday Ideas #WMCNTV

by Tina @ Life Without Pink on December 19, 2013

Monday I had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at WMCN44 and The “Dawn” Show for a live segment with some of the area’s top bloggers. It was such an awesome experience. Not only was the studio super close for me (finally!) but everyone that works there was really nice and inviting.

the dawn show

Dawn examines real life issues like social trends, health, educations, family matters, and what’s hot in local entertainment.  The WMCN44 network targets families through programming genres that include live interactive news/talk, lifestyle, entertainment, and direct response advertising. Their focus is to provide television that is important, relevant, and enjoyable to our viewing audience and the communities they serve. You must check out their list of programs….so many great shows I never knew about!

It was nice to step out from behind the computer and to chat with some of my favorite women in the area.  They are all brilliant and unique and I just love being part of this amazing community.

Here I am with the fabulous Erica Voll from No Sleep ‘Til College and my Girls’ Lunch Out partner.

That day we taped two segments and I was able to sit on their cozy set and blog/tweet/instagram/Facebook LIVE. A few of my favorite ladies had a chance to share their holiday ideas from gifts, drinks, crafts to even knowing how to take care of business when Uncle Buck clogs up the toilet (not a fun job, but one you should be prepared for).

behind the scenes

I wanted to highlight the segments in each show because there were so many great ideas!

Holiday Show #1

Joey Fortman from Real Mom Media shared some of her favorite (and unique) holiday toy and gift ideas.

Linda from Giggles, Gobbles & Gulps mixes up some easy and delicious drink recipes. She prepared a dessert martini, a Prosecco-based drink, a mixed drink using citrus, and finished up with a layered shooter.

Denise Sabia of The Painted Home created small, adorable trees each with a different theme.  Great way to get the kids involved and add some holiday decor around the house that doesn’t take up a lot of room.

Holiday Show #2

Joey Fortman from Real Mom Media started off the segment with spectacular stocking stuffers. So if you still need to pick some up, you must check out her segment…she shares some really cool finds!

Colleen Kennedy from Souffle Bombay made fun crafts for kids that you can eat including her children’s favorite Edible Christmas Wreaths

Denise of The Painted Home and Kelly Elko from Eclectically Vintage teamed up to bring us fun gifts for girlfriends that you can make yourself like their brown sugar body scrub which smelled amazing!

Beth from DIY Hip Chicks ended the segment with how to fix any disaster that may happen while entertaining this holiday season. Everything from clogged drains to clogged toilets….Beth gets down and dirty and shares must have items to keep on hand! Ladies if you want to impress the hubby, check out her tips and ideas!

Surrounding trees and shrubs could also cause thatches, especially if they
do not receive enough water. Some of my best writing and
a couple of personal bests in the gym came on days I did not feel like it.
In the spring your motor should start up with no troublel.
