My boys LOVE dressing up as their favorite superheroes. They literally have costumes from 5 years ago that they still enjoy wearing. The pants might be a bit short and the back might not always velcro shut but they don’t care one bit.
Every night I have a different dinner guest from Captain America, Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk to Ninja Warriors. It’s always exciting to see who is going to visit us next.
When my boys dress up they are doing what kids do best….using their imagination. Sometimes I’ll just sit and watch them become a new character and listen to them tell detailed stories back and forth. If you are a parent, you know how truly magical this is.
That’s why I don’t mind investing in good quality costumes because I know with two boys they will get a TON of use.
This Halloween season I’m partnering with Chasing Fireflies – a children’s clothing, party, and family costume shop. They provide some of the most creative costumes I’ve ever seen.
As soon as we received the catalog, my boys grabbed it and started flipping through. They were squealing as they turned each page and immediately they both had their favorites picked out.
For the next week, every time the door bell rang they’d run to the door screaming, “It’s our costumes!!” Finally when the package arrived, they literally knocked me over and started ripping open the box as fast as they could. They were so excited!
First up…my oldest.
As soon as he laid eyes on the Iron Man Patriot costume, that was the only one he wanted. We have the regular Iron Man costume, but not this one.
The coolest part is the light-up star arc reactor in the chest but the mask is what makes this costume come to life. We also got the iron patriot gloves and the iron patriot shoulder chain gun to complete the look.
Total value was $71.50
Next up….my youngest.
He is going through a Superman obsession right now so I wasn’t surprised when he picked that costume. The muscled jumpsuit comes with a light-up emblem and attached boot tops. It also comes with a red cape that attaches around the neck with velcro.
Look how big the breakaway chain is…it’s bigger than him!
My little guy loves the fact that his suit lights up and will often sit in the bathroom with the lights off so he can see what it looks like in the mirror. This will be a great way to keep track of him on Halloween night!
Here’s a photo – it’s not the greatest but it gives you an idea of what it looks like lit up:
Total value was $75.50.
Since the costumes were on the expensive side, I was anxious to see them in person. I was definitely impressed by the quality and feel. They are made from thick material which means it will keep my boys warm on Halloween night. Not only do they feel great but they look awesome too! I’m not going to brag, but I have a feeling my boys will have the coolest costumes in their class especially since they both light up!
The boys love their costumes so much they lay them out every night before they go to bed (this is on the floor of my sun room):
Chasing Fireflies has over 800 costumes in their Wish Craft collection from baby, toddler to big kids and adults!
Do your boys like to play dress up? Have they decided what they want to be this year for Halloween?
