If you follow me socially on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, you probably saw me tweeting a ton about #VisitLancaster. My family and I spent the weekend in Lancaster, PA with 12 other bloggers and their families.
The weather turned out to be beautiful and we had a blast! It was the perfect combination between activities, relaxation, and family time!
If you have kids, you know after a day of being on the go it’s important to stay at a place where you can relax but also one that has activities to keep the kids occupied. We stayed at Bird-In-hand Family Inn and there was a ton of things to do there.
After we dropped our bags in the room, the kids couldn’t run fast enough to the playground. We honestly lucked out because it was right across the parking lot from our room. The kids played while the parents sat around on the lawn, which was nice and relaxing. Now that my boys are at an age where they don’t need me following behind them, it makes vacationing a lot easier and more enjoyable.
Next stop…the petting zoo:
Then after the kids played, fed the animals, and washed their hands (to get rid of any icky germs), we headed to dinner at The Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord. It’s a quick walk across the parking lot and they have lots of options to choose from to give you a taste of the Lancaster County specialty recipes.
After we filled our bellies, we put on our swim suites and headed for the indoor heated pool. The kids had so much fun they played and splashed for over two hours and we didn’t get back into our room until 9:30pm!
I was bummed that we didn’t get to check out their mini-golfing (we had so much to do), but we will be back for sure!
