I’m thankful that my family is safe and we had no damage during Hurricane Sandy.
However, thirty minutes from me the shore areas are in devastation. Houses are gone, roads are flooded, pieces of the boardwalk are missing and stores have been destroyed.
As I was looking through Facebook last night, it blew me away at how many people can be heartless. I saw postings like, “Good job weathermen, the panic was for nothing.”
Wow, really?
While some may be sitting in their cozy homes with heat, food and power, others have lost everything. The storm may have not affected you, but think about everyone it has.
I know friends who had trees fall onto their homes, no power and personal businesses destroyed.
I’m thankful that my family is ok, but my heart goes out to everyone that is suffering.
I want to hear from all of my East Coast friends, how are you doing?

It’s great to hear from so many people that they are safe & sound through all of the tweets, Facebook, and blog posts.
Normally, we aren’t affected by the various hurricanes but this time our weather was definitely impacted…. we rarely see big waves on the great lakes and there were 23 ft waves this week!

I’m glad to hear that you and your family are all okay. It’s crazy how much devastation this past hurricane has inflicted. My town of Hoboken, NJ was on the news and it was surreal to see people sloshing through my street up to their waists in water. Thankfully my family and friends are all okay. But I see so many people around me who have lost everything and it makes my heart heart
I’m shocked people can be so insensitive sometimes.
