Why Boys Need Their Moms

by Tina @ Life Without Pink on April 13, 2012

To comfort them when they are hurt;

To give them crazy hairstyles;

To let them be silly;

To release their inner super hero;

To show them how to love one another;

To give them memories to cherish;

I love being a mom of boys!

Awwww, I love all your pictures, Tina :) What a beautiful family you have. And I love that you encourage (or at least support) your son’s creative side and allow him to sit at the table dressed as a super hero. SO cute!

So glad I found your blog! I’m a mom to three boys, including twins. I agree with all of your reasons, and I’d add another: to teach them how to respect women. I’m not just raising my boys; I’m raising future men! :)

Oh yeah.

I say this to people all the time when they say, “What? No boys? I feel so sorry for you.”

I feel I was meant to be the mom of boys, it feels so WONDERFUL to me.

Having good self-esteem can lead to a more positive self image and greater success in life. Boys in particular need to have their self esteem nurtured, because those with low self esteem are more likely to abuse drugs, become bullies, or be depressed. Building self-esteem in boys will help them deal with life’s challenges in a healthy way..

Mama to four boys here and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Boys also need to have moms lots of hugs, and close reading, talking no matter how dirty or stinky they get. Someday they are going to have a wife and we give the confidences in how we respond to them being boys.
