Getting Gorgeous in NYC

As moms we all need to take some time out of our crazy, busy schedules and pamper ourselves once in awhile.

So that’s what I did on Saturday!

I kicked off my mom uniform, slipped into something a bit more stylish and headed to New York City for my first Getting Gorgeous event sponsored by Degree Women.

The very talented Vera Sweeney and Audrey McClelland hosted the event and it was a day completely filled with beauty, wellness, social media and good friends.

I met up with Erica, Heather, Rebecca, Beth, Valerie, Sheila, Trina, Shannon and Melissa on the train and we were New York bound!

We were all giddy with excitement for the event, or maybe it had something to do with the fact we were actually getting out of the house for a kid free day?

When we entered the building we were greeted by delicious Simply Orange Mimosas and a super fun atmosphere….seriously it was a like a candy shop for women!

The highlight for me was meeting up with some of my favorite bloggers!

There are so many wonderful women that I have developed a friendship with over the past year. There is nothing like stepping out from behind the computer and having the opportunity to meet them in real life.

I even got the chance to relax while Hair Room Service styled my hair! I literally came to the event with my hair pulled back in a pony tail {I know can you say Mom hair?}, so this was such an awesome treat.

I snapped a photo of Rebecca and Mary getting pampered. Notice how Mary is multitasking? She is getting her hair styled, chatting with friends and tweeting on her iPad. Now that girl is a social media rock star!

After the event, several of us headed to a local hot spot for drinks and food. Boy were we starving – the food never tasted better…and that glass of wine went down very smoothly too.
