It seems everywhere you turn, Facebook, Twitter, and even blogs, are being saturated with the talk about the biggest blogging conference this year, Blogher.
I completely understand the excitement; fancy parties, networking, meeting long time blogging friends, free swag, celeb sightings…the list goes on and on.
But for someone like myself who is not attending, I have to say I am slightly jealous of everyone that gets to party like a rock star this weekend.
Sadly it just wasn’t in the cards for me this year.
I got talking to Lori from Mommyfriend {who by the way is my virtual twin} and we were ranting about missing out on all of the fun at Blogher.
While we are home taking care of the kids, doing the laundry, making meals and carting everyone around, our blogging friends will be partying it up in NYC – its just not fair!
So we decided to throw our own pity party!
We know there are other women out there that are feeling the same way. So this weekend while everyone else is having fun in the Big Apple, we can have our own party!
Simply rant about missing out on the hottest blogging conference this year.
Tell us why you are not going, what you will miss most or maybe NOT miss at the conference – write your post and come back to link up.
The idea is to hop around, get to know the other bloggers, leave them comments and have a little fun! Maybe by sharing our stories and banding together we will all feel a little better about not attending Blogher.
What I will miss about BlogHer’10:
1. Not having the excuse to go buy an entire new wardrobe.
2. Missing the opportunity to schmooze with big time brands.
3. Not meeting some of my favorite bloggers; Heather, Corine and Devan {just to name a few}.
4. The possibility of me actually staying up past 10pm – now that’s partying!
5. Being able to use a cute, stylish clutch and not carrying around diapers, wipes and toys!
What I will NOT miss about BlogHer’10:
1. Stressing about what to wear, what not to wear, will I look ok? I have stomach pains just thinking about it.
2. Not being invited to parties and feeling like the geeky kid in high school.
3. Wanting to meet someone so bad but not having the confidence to go up to them and say, “Hi! I’m Tina from Life Without Pink” – in fear they will look at me with blank stare.
4. Being completely overwhelmed and wishing I could run far, far away!
5. Fear that my lipstick will smear or I will have something in my teeth when I am talking to that Brand I have been dying to corner all conference.
I am disappointed that I won’t get to meet some of the amazing bloggers I have spent so much time getting to know on-line.
But for my dear friends who will be stuck at home like me, grab a cocktail and let’s get our party started! Oh remember to stop on over and say hi to my girl, Lori!

I won’t be attend because my hubby is out of the country and unfortunately I doubt I will ever get to attend one of these unless it was here in good ole Fayetteville, NC. But it seems like not a lot of people blog here. At least I haven’t really found anyone…. yet.
So I will be here for the party. Save me a drink…

This was a link up was a great idea! I am actually NOT jealous for some reason. There are a TON of blogs out there that I love that probably have never even HEARD of BlogHer (that would be shocking, right??). While I think it would be fun & I would learn a lot (and may really want to go next year), I’m okay with not being in NYC this weekend. It also might overwhelm me to see THAT many giggly girls and realize they ALL have blogs.

Okay, I’m not 100% following the rules, because I already wrote a post about BlogHer and I’m too lazy (no, let’s say sad – I’m TOO SAD) to edit it or rewrite it to fit these guidelines. (sulk, sigh)…I’m not going to BlogHer b/c my husband’s family reunion is in VA Beach this weekend. I tried to get him to go down on Saturday AM instead, but he thinks that blogging should glean actual dollars in order for me to go to a conference. I tried to tell him that it was connected to my online store but he laughed it off. So alas, I will be hanging out with the octogenarians of his family this weekend…and the event isn’t even at the beach
So my tweets this weekend will be about missing BlogHer and the beach.

I wasn’t able to attend this year, even though I had tentative plans to do so with a fellow mommy blogger. I’m really bummed, but also a little relieved. I am new to blogging and might have felt a wee-bit overwhelmed with all the experienced bloggers out there…..here’s to next year!
Sadly I was under a rock and didn’t realize it was going to be in NY this year. But my work/family schedule wouldn’t allow it this year.

This is awesome and hilarious!! I won’t be going because I have a 4 month old baby…and she doesn’t like the bottle…we’re still working on that one. I did notice that some moms are taking their kids, anyone do this ever??? Maybe next year I’ll go, or hope to figure out bottle feeding and attend a different conference later this year.

I’m not going b/c I’m disorganized and I was also feeling like I’m not a big enough blogger to go to BlogHer. Plus I would rather go with a smaller group of bloggers I know well. I get very nervous in large crowds, so I should probably start off w/ a smaller, lesser known conference….
And yeah, I’d have trouble introducing myself. ANd I’d be worried about food in my teeth, too. You summed it up pretty well!
