If you read my blog, you know that I was laid off from my marketing position last year. The statement, “Its a full time job finding a job”, is so true.
Its definitely tough, so I am doing everything I can to network, build my social media skills and learn as much as I can about the industry.
From the first day I started my blog, I became intrigued with social media and couldn’t get enough. Maybe it is because of my marketing background or the fact that I’m a social gal by heart. I love meeting new people and the chance to spark up a good conversation.
If you know me, you know I come from a family of talkers!
So this week my Friday Favorites will focus on everything related to social media.
1. Most of us dream about being able to make blogging a full-time career or at least generate some money from it. Kikolani discusses the pros and cons of having a home based blogging business and Mom Bog Magazine talk about how to land a blogging job. Two great articles!
2. We all fear criticism! Tia from Bizchickblogs.com discusses how to face good, bad and ugly critics.
3. A little competition in the blogging world can be a good thing; makes you strive harder, pushes you to improve and can lead to lots of success. Kelby Carr discusses how sometimes good competition can turn disrespectful.
4. Have you ever wonder how some people get so many twitter followers? Coree from Market Like a Chick gives you the top 9 ways to grow your community.

I really admire your ambition, you are doing big things my friend. I really agree with everything you said. I think I would have allowed myself to get complacent if it were not for all the amazing reads by fellow bloggers out there. They drive me to be better and try harder.
I haven’t heard of Friday Favorites – what a great idea…I think having more bloggers out there grows the overall market, which as you say is a good thing for all of us. People will come out to read for the great variety…plenty of room for all of us out there

It’s such a great idea for you to post these things! So many women are looking into the pros and cons of blogging in general. And, of course, social media falls right under that category!
