Despicable…WHAT?

by Life Without Pink on July 24, 2010

Last week I had the opportunity to take my family to the advanced screening of Despicable Me.

Big A was so excited not only for the chance to see a movie but because he knows that going to the movies equals popcorn, candy and soda – special treats he RARELY gets to enjoy!

I was excited because well it was free!

You know how much it is to take a family of four to the movies?

Between tickets, food and drinks you are talking close to $50!! That’s why we usually just wait until the movie comes out on DVD.

The trailers had both hubby and I hopeful that it would be something that not only the kids would enjoy but we would as well.

The movie is about an older villain trying to remain relevant as a younger bad guy grabs the spotlight.

It was absolutely adorable and one of the best family friendly movies we have seen in a long time!

A few days after we saw the movie, Big A kept asking us if he could see it again.

So guess what we did? Something we rarely do anymore…we took the boys to see the movie for a second time. It was that good!

Even my hubby said he thoroughly enjoyed watching it….I mean how could you not fall in love with those cute little yellow Minions?

I seriously wanted to take one home with me! Imagine how much housework and babysitting they could do?!

There was one part in the movie where Big A couldn’t stop laughing.

When I asked him later about his favorite part, he tried to reenact it:

If you are not sure what part of the movie he is talking about, you have to go see it.

The kid is like a broken record. He walks around the house saying,”WHAT?” – with his lip curled up and the head shake action going on.  The boy is quite a character that’s for sure!

I definitely give this movie two thumbs up!

My family was given complimentary tickets to see Despicable Me. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and not influenced in any way by anyone. Please refer to the site’s PR page for more information.

Thanks for the great review! Going to the movies is not something we do frequently either…I usually make it a date night for myself and the 2-3 older ones…we’ll have to add this to the “must see” list! Thanks again :)

my boys want to see this, I wasn’t too sure. Sounds like your commenters liked it, too. I’ll try it…

We just saw this on Friday. It was so cute. And yes, it cost our family of 4 OVER $50 to go see it.

My girls loved it. My 5 year old’s favorite part was when the little girl dropped the mudcake on the desk of the lady that runs the home.
