Friday Favorites No. 6

by Life Without Pink on July 16, 2010

If you need more info about Friday Favorites, read THIS.

But it is pretty simple. Write a post with your favorite reads from the week, grab my button and link up!

If you didn’t get a chance to write your post, no worries just link up YOUR favorite post from your personal blog.

I am a little behind this week because I am having so much fun reading all of the entries for Not Mom of the Year contest.

I finally feel like I am like every other mom out there and not the crazy mom I thought I was turning into. So thank you ladies for sharing your stories with us.

Mary and I definitely have our work cut out! There are so many creative, funny and very truthful  posts.  Remember today is the last day to enter and Monday we will be announcing our top five finalists!

Click here to submit your post – it is not too late!

Before I share my favorite posts, I thought I would share my favorite photo from the week.

What is it with boys and thinking its funny to keep their hands down their pants? I constantly catch Little B doing this and he thinks its hysterical when he is caught.

The other day while he was taking a nap I went in to check on him and this is what I saw;

What’s a mom to do but laugh. At the moment its adorable…in a few years not so much!

Once again there were so many great posts this week! Here are a few of my favorites:

1. My Favorite Son by Mama’s Got Flair; This is a very insightful look into a mother’s love for her four sons.  Being a mom of two boys, it has touched me a lot. You realize each child is different and unique and these are the reasons you love them so much.

2. If Jennifer Lopez Can Wear White Pants Why Can’t I? By Jenny Mac; This is for all of you that have that love/hate relationship with white pants. I always think women look great in them but never fails as soon as I try to wear them I get a stain or sit in something. I gave them up awhile ago. What about you?

3. Grocery Store Personality Analysis by Buried With Children; I admit I secretly look at what is in other people’s carts and I have judged or made assumptions about that person.  Haven’t you?

4. Every Passport Tells a Story by All.Things.Fadra; I just loved this post and never thought about how your passport can become apart of your history. Sadly I had one that I haven’t used in years. Actually I am not even sure I know where it is now. I think that is telling me something. I.NEED.A.VACATION.

Also, a big thank you to Prenda Le Stelle for giving me both the Beautiful Blogger and A Blog With Substance Award.  I am always honored when one of my readers thinks enough of me to mention my blog on their site.

Thank you so much!

Happy Blog Reading!

And remember Monday is the big announcement for our Top Five Finalists for Not Mom of the Year!

Hi Tina! Thanks for hosting. Cute photo of your son–such a little man! I love your idea of promoting other bloggers with this meme. I tried to make a “Not Mom of the Year” Vlog yesterday and had so many outtakes… you made it look easy! If nap time lasts long enough today I’ll get it uploaded and entered!!

That picture is all too real in my house as well. My oldest son’s teacher asked me, “Does your son need to go pee-pee? He’s touching his pants a lot.”

“No,” I said, “He just really likes himself.”

So proud.

Thanks so much for including my post as a Friday Favorite! It was one of my favorites to write. I’m supernostalgic anyway and love to reminisce. Anyway, I, too, am a mother of a boy who has only recently discovered his tool. When I find his hand “there”, he simply laughs and says it tickles! What’s a mom to do EXACTLY.

HA! I find my son like that all the time. Sometimes even with his boy bits hanging out the side of his diaper. Boys are gross.
