Friday Favorites No. 3; All About Blogging

This week’s Friday Favorites is dedicated to the topic “blogging” {if you are not sure what Friday Favorites is make sure to click on the link above to read about it}.

I thought it was appropriate because of all the drama that happened. If you haven’t read about it you can click here.

I also wrote an article on how to protect your blog with a lot of helpful resources that you can use.

You might question; Do I really need to do this? I am only a small town blogger?

Well that’s what I thought. But you have to start thinking about your blog as a business. You put a lot of effort and time in writing your articles, so you need to protect yourself and your work.

I started to do a little research and found a few interesting articles about blogging…everything from how to avoid writer’s block, a few ways to earn money through your blog to making it in this doggy dog world {aka blogosphere}.

Hopefully these will help you along your blogging career {yes it is a career in my eyes} – I found them to be quite interesting!

1. A Simple Blogging Formula by Chris Brogan; A good motivator for when you’re feeling unsure about the direction to take your blog.

2. 6 Ways to Constantly Produce Quality Blog Content by Build A Better Blog; If you are suffering from writer’s blog this is a great article to read.

3. Surviving Long Term As A Blogger by Playgroups are not place for Children; This is an oldie but goodie!

4. How Long Will Your Mom Blog Last by Jennifer James; Here is some advice in order to last in the blogging world.

5. 6 Real Ways To Earn Money From Your Mom Blog; by Jennifer James; Because isn’t this the question we all want to know?

Link up your Friday Favorites! And if you didn’t get a chance to write yours, no problem! Link up one of YOUR posts from the week that you felt was your favorite.

Oh and I am going to let you in on a little secret….The Mommyologist and I have an exciting project coming up and we think our readers will LOVE it! Stay tuned…more details to come next week!

This will be some great reads for me as I have been blogging for a while and need to get motivated to take this to the next level. What started out as a way to chronicle my pregnancy needs to go above and beyond now. I need it as an outlet!

Thank you for this…I will hop over. I’ve had your button on my site for a few months but just realized I had you buried in my follow folder.

Bad move,my part, I remember now why I did follow in the first place.

Oh, woe, what I’ve missed. Will spend the morning catching up.

These all look like pretty good resources for sustaining your blogging career. A few of them I am familiar with. Not sure anything can help this Dumb Mom but every little bit of knowledge helps, right?! Sorry to read about your issue w/the thief, too. Don’t think I’m witty enough to be in danger of being ripped off. Unless you count those creepy sites from like Bangladesh. You know they are called something slightly off like Things Loved Mommy Does, or For Mommy to Like It For You. And then who even cares?!

    Hi Tina, and ladies.

Seems I’m the only guy to comment so far. Maybe the guys are a bit shy.

Just thought to say “hi” and thanks for a great post Tina!

The way I get inspiration when I need it for my own blogging is to head on over to some of my favourite blogs which are fairly related to my own niche (SEO – or ranking websites high in the search engines, if you prefer).

Its a great way to get some ideas generating and then you can come up with your own take on the subject matter, to make it unique.

I’ll be back again Tina to read up on more of your postings – will take a copy of your “button” too and put it on my SEO tips blog.

    Kind regards to everyone!

    Joseph
(Oh, I came on by from Italian Mamma’s blog by the way).
