Who knew it could be so difficult? I am not the tech savvy type and I thought I was golden by setting up my own fan page. Little did I know there is a lot of back end stuff you can do so that your blog posts magically appear on your fan page.
Setting up a facebook page has lots of advantages. First, it’s a great way to interact with new readers and start discussions on your page. This will hopefully in return make them want to check out your blog and become a follower.
Also, after someone fans you it will then show up in their updates. Great way to keep them coming back and wanting to see what is happening on your page. And lastly when someone joins your group it will show up in the news feed. The advantage to this is that others will see it and hopefully be intrigued enough to check it out. I know this is how I usually find new groups/pages to follow – ones I never knew existed!
But how do you keep the conversation going and make it interesting enough for people to keep coming back?

Make sure when you are done setting up your fan page, you create your own username. For ex; it would say www.facebook.com/lifewithoutpink. This is so much easier to tell people where to find you instead of them having to do a search for you.

My facebook fanpage is ‘ShopLeah’ (no fb at work, so I can’t send you the exact link). It’s for my etsy shop. I need to bump it up more for spring, I know!

Don’t worry Frugal Vicki, mine is set up under my personal as well {wish I would of known before}. But someone told me that you can create an account for your blog and then change the settings under your fan page for admin rights {taking it away from your personal one and giving rights to your new account}. I haven’t done this but plan on trying as soon as I get a free minute

Thanks so much for this post! I’ve been wanting to do this for so long but had no idea how. Ever since I put this network blog widget on my sidebar people have added me on fb. And since I use my full (as in first last…even maiden) name on there it was always kinda weird.
