Putting Your Blog into a Book

by Life Without Pink on February 26, 2010

I used to be that mom that wrote down every little thing the boys’ did, tracking all of their firsts and printing out photos to make into albums.  But now that life is so hectic, I just can not keep up.  One of the reasons I started this blog was to track our days and create little memories through the stories that I write.  Something that I can look back on and share with the boys as they grow.

But how can I preserve them?

I recently came across an awesome company called Blurb where you can transform your blog into a book form. How cool is that?

Think about it; taking all of your posts and creating a book that shares all of your stories, memories and photos from that year. Brilliant!

It is so easy to get caught up on wanting followers, seeing how many hits you are getting per day, yearning for comments on your posts that you can sometimes forget the real reason you started your blog.

Whether you write about your family, home, cooking, etc. it is the perfect gift to make for yourself at the end of the year. What a wonderful keepsake that you can pass down!

Hey T, I’ve used them before, I made a guest book for my sister through them for her wedding. I never realized you could turn your blog into a book. That’s great!!!

Hubby and I were talking about this the other day. It will be so great that our kids can look back and see the details of their lives over time.

I love this idea. I had all of these plans to journal every day of my son’s life. Yeah, he’s almost 9 months old and I haven’t even opened the beautiful journal I bought before he was born. Thank God for my blog where I keep up with some of his antics!

P.S. I found you via the Lady Bloggers Tea Party.

Used Blurb with my Wordpress.com blog, while I was pregnant I kept a blog journaling everything. It is so awesome to have a real keepsake that is all about my daughter.

Love Blurb.

But, FYI- Blurb doesn’t support self- hosted Wordpress blogs. You will have to do it all by hand… which is what I prefer to do anyway!

Lucy – I know I am so behind on both boys’ albums and books. I use to be able to keep up but now with the 2 of them I just cant seem to find the time :(

Erica – Thanks for the information. Yes I am the same way, prefer to do on my own – always better that way!
